Sweet Willow,

On this day in 2003 we welcomed the sweetest 6lb 10 ounces, 19.25″  little girl into our lives.

Your sweet, compassionate and quiet disposition has grown into a deep love for everyone. Your heart breaks for anyone who has less than you. You are willing to give anyone anything you own if that means that they will have more. You have a heart for Jesus and for serving others. Your an incredible sister who is happy to the big sister at times. 🙂

You love wearing skirts and dresses and anything girly!  You have a desire to go hunting with your daddy in your ankle length skirt with your gun you got from Aunt Sue and Aunt Dar for Christmas and sadly I know you will have a great time! You love to paint your fingers before you go fishing. I do believe you are the girliest tom-boy out there!

You have been over the moon about fostering, adopting S and have even been praying for every.single.night  since before we had Emory that we would adopt from Africa or at the very least that we could foster an African American girl that we could keep. 🙂

You love cooking. You can make a mean box of Annie’s Macaroni and Cheese, and last week for one of your badges you made an entire batch of cookies alone. I loved seeing your eyes sparkle with pride with each bite you watch someone else take because you knew you had made them yourself!

Right now you want to live in a third world country and tell others about Jesus, it will be fun to see where God takes you in life.

I pray that your heart will not be impressioned by others and that you will learn to stand firm in what you believe and what you know in your heart to be true. I pray the Lord would instill in you a desire to draw closer to Him and away from the world. My deepest desire is to see you become a woman of God and that you know you are treasured and adored by not only your earthly father but your Heavenly Father.

I love you to the moon and back, and as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean. Thank you for teaching me every day humility, love, generosity, and grace.

A year ago you asked for an American Girl Doll and you have been busy over the last year reading every single American Girl Doll book so you could choose exactly which one you wanted. You have reached your goal and you are over the moon excited about getting your doll. I can’t wait for our mommy and daughter date!

Here you are sweet girl sleeping when you were four with a cloth over your eyes! We still find you at times sleeping this very same way! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
