This post is about 24 hours overdo, but more on the happenings of our house later, for now it is only 24 hours late!

Yesterday, Emory turned 5! We apparently sang “Happy Birthday” so much, because by bed time she asked us to stop. Nice.

This sweet little girl was born on Memorial Day after a few scary and eventful moments where my ob/gyn called my husband and said “we are taking the baby you have 30 minutes to get here, or you will miss her birth.” God is amazing and our friends happened to be driving right by the hospital, after after hearing from my husband (knowing he was 50 minutes away) they pulled in and her hubby (a CNRA) sat with me. It was comical to have a medical professional sitting with me, telling me everything, and comforting that at least someone was with me.

Meanwhile, my hubs was driving 95 down the freeway and made it time. He rolled in and the doctor rushed him back to the or, it was a quick blur, but we were grateful to be together! Both families can joke about it now, but during the time it was terrifying for all of us!

Now, this sweet, feisty strawberry blond, has a hysterical sense of humor, loves to give others words of affirmation (which is especially helpful when a mom doesn’t feel great), she loves to sing and will sing a song all day long, if she even thinks she sees a bean, she wont eat, she loves to give hugs, and is a great big sister and little sister.

This Memorial Day was less adventurous but a great day celebrating her!

We are blessed to call her ours, and we pray she puts her trust, heart, and faith in the Lord and will obey Him in years to come.

When He Says No

Our sweet friend Sarah, has had a rough few months. Our family has been in deep prayer over her family and the Lord revealed to them recently His answer. When I read receive emails late at night, I knew it was early in Ind#a and hoped to read joyus news….email after email my heart ached and grieved more for her. Go here to read her story, and please lift them up as they seek the Lord for His future plans for their family.

While she is near and dear to us, this is happening a lot…yes some are being approved but many right now are not. God has a plan and He is soverign…He has clearly spoken to many of us who know we have a precious child 9,000 miles away…we are each trusting Him for His will but it is scary and hard when you watch one friend loose their little girl before she is home and another not be given the opportunity to bring her beautiful daughter home.

He loves each and everyone of His children and cares for them far more than us…but our flesh is weak…so pray for those walking the adoption journey please.

Praying for there…

The hardest part about the adoption process internationally is the lack of ability to really tell what is going on in your particular case. We sign pages of confidentiality that you wont post anything public about your child, case, etc.

So I will say this, the enemy is fighting hard, things that shouldn’t make sense do, and things that make sense don’t. Families across the country need prayer.

One family needs clarity and peace as to what the Lord is saying.

One family, needs comfort and love right now as they learned their precious daughter they hoped to have home in a few more months passed. I can’t imagine, their heartaches. Those children 9,000 miles away are ours, and I can’t imagine getting the news, not being able to hold my child, and not being able to say goodbye….please lift them up.

The beautiful thing about Heaven is that there are no more orphans, Jesus come!

When spiritual warfare is present, it means the Lord has great things in store, but those going thru the storm would be greatly blessed by being covered in prayer!

Not Enough Time

God made two great lights, the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. Genesis 1:16

I collapsed on the couch in a dramatic tone I stated “just a few more hours!”

I felt defeated, what had a I actually accomplished today? What did I not get accomplished? What needed more time tomorrow?

How often do we hear “just a few more hour needed in my day” ? A lot. Then I stopped and thought about it even more. God created this amazing world in SEVEN days, He created the day to be 24 hours. Not 27, not 16, 24, the perfect amount of time He saw fit for us to carry out our day. So if I really think I need just a few more hours, then I am doing something wrong.

Where can I cut something out? What could I have done differently? Where could I “save time?” Where did I waste time? Where did I not spend enough time?

I must use and spend my time wisely, if I don’t feel I had enough time in my day than perhaps the answer is to many things scheduled for one day. In this fast paced world we live in, it’s easy for us to say we have to do this, or we have to go here. We don’t have to do anything. Our family should be our priority, as well as our sanity and time with Him!

So, as the end of the year draws to a close and we get invited to this and that, and have here or there to be, I have to stop and if all my God given priorities will be taken care of first and foremost, and if my day that the Lord has given me 24 hours in will be enough time!
